Enforcement in the Trump Era

Days into the Trump Administration, several executive orders were released, outlining policy changes for enforcement at the border, the interior of the country and prohibiting Muslim immigrants from entering into the United States.  These executive orders have been guiding principles for enforcement under this administration.  Communities are facing increased numbers of ICE raids in workplaces and homes, and instances where ICE and CBP have gone rouge and carried out enforcement actions in courthouses, near homeless shelters and even on public transportation.  FIRM believes increases in funding for DHS gives more power to these agencies and increase the harm done to immigrant communities.
