U.S. Marine's Widow Facing Visa Problems

As Stars and Stripes reports, the Okinawan widow of a U.S. Marine, who is six months pregnant with the couple's first child, is currently being denied a visa. Hotaru Nakama and Marine Sgt. Michael Fershke began dating in May of 2007 and married while Ferschke was deployed in Iraq, where he was killed a month later.

Now, his widow is seeking to raise their child in Tennessee, near Fershke's family, but is having difficulties working through the complex immigration system here in the United States.

Our thoughts are with her and the marine's family.
