Nativists (aka hate groups) front "experts" on immigration to kill drivers license in NY
That's right- we know they do it. Now we have proof.
From the New York Immigration Coalition:
Albany, NY. The New York Immigration Coalition today released a white paper entitled, F.A.I.R. Hearings: An Analysis of the Intimate Connections Between the Experts Testifying Against the NYS DMV Policy and the Anti-Immigrant, Nativist Group F.A.I.R. The paper uncovers FAIRs direct connections to each of the so-called experts that both the Senate Majority and Assembly Minority have invited to testify at their sham hearings.
Following an Assembly Minority hearing on the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles recent policy change, which featured notorious anti-immigrant Republican Congressman Tom Tancredo, the Senate Majority held their own hearing, which featured a similar bench of so-called experts, fronting for the most prominent anti-immigrant, nativist organization in America: the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
The national anti-immigrant movement has picked the wrong issue to use as the new surrogate issue to promote its hateful anti-immigrant agenda. With the aid of New York State legislators in the Senate and Assembly, the national nativist movement has descended upon New York to prey on peoples legitimate fears about terrorism and exploit a common-sense policy for the benefit of their anti-immigrant agenda, said Chung-Wha Hong, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition. Senator Joe Bruno and Assemblyman Jim Tedisco should be ashamed that they have rolled out the welcome mat for fear-mongers under the guise of so-called credible experts.
The three star witnesses at the hearing are all intimately connected in a tight-knit web that leads back to one organization FAIR, and one person the father of the modern nativist movement John Tanton.
Invited experts to the hearing included the Center for Immigration Studies, the 9/11 Families for a Secure America, and the Coalition for a Secure Drivers License. As the white paper F.A.I.R. Hearings, reveals:
- The Center for Immigration Studies was founded and funded by FAIR founder John Tanton. Forty percent of the Centers board of directors is made up of FAIRs board of directors or board of advisors.
- The 9/11 Families for a Secure America is headed by a former director of FAIRs board of directors. In addition, three out of four of the groups official advisors are either on FAIRs board of directors or board of advisors. The fourth advisor is a fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies.
- The Coalition for a Secure Drivers License was founded by two of FAIRs current directors on the board of directors.
The white paper also reveals that each of these three organizations is not only connected to FAIR, but also connected to each other, sharing advisors and directors. To get a copy of the white paper, email Milan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
