Students Working for Equal Rights Youth Rights Leadership Conference Thirty-five students from high schools and colleges in nine Florida counties came together in Plant City, Florida for two days of training and strategizing to strengthen the leadership of Students Working for Equal Rights on a statewide level to prepare for a sucessful campaign to pass the DREAM Act. Many thanks to Corina Garcia of Center for Community Change, Jose Marantes of We Count!, Gaby Pacheco, for their skilled facilitation, Americo Menendez and St. Clement Catholic Church, and Lupe Lamas of San Jose Mission for their hospitality, Ana Maria de Alvare and Lt. Col. Larry Marksberry of Forest Hill High, for being friendly adult presences, Guillermo Gama of El Mirasol for food and Kuyayky for the music that brought us together.
