DOJ Seeking to Lift Temporary Injunction Blocking Administrative Relief
(WASHINGTON)—The Fair Immigration Reform Movement (FIRM) today praised President Obama and the Justice Department for the decision to seek an emergency order to lift a temporary injunction blocking administrative relief to millions of immigrant families.
“We are pleased that President Obama and the Justice Department are standing strong with immigrant families in an effort to end the suffering and fear of being separated through deportations,” Matos said. “Our families applaud this decision to not back down in the face of an extremely flawed court ruling issued by a Bush-appointed judge with a history of anti-immigrant views.”
“Our families are ready for administrative relief and remain confident the measures announced by President Obama last fall will be fully implemented,” Matos said. “We will defeat anti-immigrant attacks in the courts and in Congress, and we will not stop until we win fair and comprehensive immigration reform for all 11 million undocumented immigrants,” Matos added.”
