A Voice for Forgotten Immigrant Soldiers

Maj. Gen. Alfred Valenzuela has spent 33 years serving his country and has been decorated countless times for heroism and valor. As our friends at Citizen Orange reminded us today, the second soldier to die in Iraq was an undocumented Guatemalan Immigrant. Though it goes largely unnoticed, many immigrants have fought, and died, in defense and honor of this country. Retired Major General Alfred Valenzuela has written a book providing a voice to those forgotten Immigrant soliders. The  book, titled No Greater Love: The Life and Times of Hispanic Soldiers, highlights the often overlooked contribution of immigrants to the U.S. Armed Forces.
