This year’s US Social Forum is coming at a critical time in the immigrants rights fight. As we gear up for debate on the Senate floor and we prepare for a possible debate in the House in June, the forum at the end of June will be a crucial time for advocates within the immigrants rights movement to meet and to connect with our brothers and sisters within the broader move for social justice.
Not only is the timing crucial, but the place- Atlanta, is HUGE. The Southeast has been the newest frontier for immigrant communities and we are very excited that immigrant rights groups from throughout the region will be able to participate in the forum.
I’ll be writing from the forum at the end of June- if you plan on attending, leave a post here and I look forward to connecting!
