Hearing on the Hill: The Social Impact of Raids and on Families and Communities

We are all aware of the terror and destruction recent raids by the Bush administration and ICE have reaped on our communities- our call for a hearing has fallen on deaf ears- so we’re lifting our voices on the Hill in support of the families affected by the raids.

Families are coming to DC to testify before a panel of distinguished advocates for human and children’s rights, including:

·  Marian Wright Edelman, President, Children’s Defense Fund

·  Kim Gandy, President, National Organization of Women

·  Rev. Robert Edgar, General Secretary, National Council of Churches USA

·  Hilary Shelton, Washington DC Bureau Chief, NAACP

We will be covering the testimony here on our blog, but please forward this event info to your local papers, and stay tuned for more information:

Join us, as affected families testify in front of leaders, prominent children, family and civil rights organizations. Supporting testimony will be provided by elected officials, religious leaders and social service providers from across the country.
