Obama needs to stop taking the Latino vote for granted (because honestly, what other option do they have besides not vote at all?) and recognize that the highly flawed laws regarding immigration need to be reformed and they need to be done so now. Immigration reform is needed now. Families are living in fear every day. Parents kiss their children goodbye every morning when they leave for work and school not knowing if they’ll see them again that night. Families who’s only crime is trying to provide for a basic, decent life that every human being is entitled to. They are our co-workers, our neighbors, our friends, our families. They are vital to our economy. Let them make amends for violating immigration laws, implement stiff penalties if need be, but allow them a pathway to legalization. It is the right thing to do. The oppression and persecution of the undocumented has caused more social and financial problems than the apprehension and deportation of them, and is the epitome of anti-Americanism.

Deportation and tearing families apart is barbaric. Only dangerous criminals should be deported, but all other’s who are working and pulling their own weight in this country should have the opportunity to work towards citizenship.

I strongly agree with all of these comments. I myself have a deported husband in mexico for unlawful presence . We have 2 babies 3 and 4 years old. My husband has been in mexico a little over a year. We are awaiting i-130 approval 3 months in. We are hoping that he will be eligible for waviers, but who knows he’s got a 10 year ban. This needs to stop. Why can’t they deport the drug runners and gangsters and murderers. They need to leave hard working family men alone. God please help us everyone that is in this sitition. My fear is now if my husband does get to file a wavier ,i don’t know if he will ever return back alive from juarez.

I was happy to see the developments in IL and FL. But I’m in the dark as to how more meetings at the White House that enable Obama to spread misinformation constitute “good news.”

Obama is and has been since the start of his administration the #1 enemy of immigrants in the U.S. It will be good news when he leaves office, until he does, nothing is going to happen with immigration reform. By the time he is done, there will be no need for CIR since he’ll have deported everyone already.

Thank you! I completely agree! The border wall is doing nothing but harm and should be torn down. Why can’t we learn from history (like the Berlin Wall) and realize that this is not the answer?
